Michael J. Wynne led the investigation, before the Hon. Hilda Tagle, and prosecuted Carlos Hinojosa, son of a food distributorship and long-serving congressman on the U.S. Mexico Border. Mr. Hinojosa used his family ties to market a Ponzi-scheme to the elderly and steal their retirement savings in a prime bank scheme. Mr. Hinojosa pled guilty on the eve of trial and received a lengthy prison term.
